The name 'Red Forest' comes from the ginger-brown colour of the pine trees after they died following the absorption of high levels of radiation from the Chernobyl accident on April 26, 1986.

Here, Mathieu Lamontagne unfolds landscapes leading to such a place, with six works inspired by the original track 'Red Forest' from Emmanuel Toledo (originally pusblished under moniker Eeem [eim]). The six "Steps" are alternate takes, or reworks, of the original piece.
